ACM Launch Event

The inauguration of the ACM SIGCHI Student Chapter on February 29th, 2024, between 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm at the H Kumar Vyas Seminar Hall, signified an integral step in cultivating synergy between the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the MIT Institute of Design (MITID). The ACM SIGCHI Student Chapter within MITID is designed to cultivate study and enrichment in human-computer interaction (HCI) and design, supplying a stage for students and educators to partake in multidisciplinary dialogue and novelty.

Dr. Dinesh Katre

Dr. Katre gave an enlightening talk on the significance of design centered around human needs in the emerging relationship between people and AI. He presented his case studies, research approaches, and outcomes from his trials, offering essential knowledge into the design methodology and its influence on technology and society.

Dr. Amit Jena

During his presentation, he discussed Data Visualization and provided a summary of the ACM SIGCHI Chapter and its initiatives, sharing his involvement with the IIT Bombay subsidiary. He subsequently immersed into data visualization, displaying his contributions and debating its relevance in HCI and design.
